BRADY, ANTHONY
ANTHONY BRADY (1843-1913). Brady, the creator of New York Edison, was a French immigrant. He opened a tea store in Albany, which soon grew into one of the first chain stores. He soon left that business, but invested in transit businesses and utilities. He controlled a major share of New York's transit systems above ground and invested in the new subway systems.
