BRANCH, LAWRENCE O'BRYAN
LAWRENCE O'BRYAN BRANCH (1820 - 1862). Confederate general during the Civil War. Branch served with Stonewall Jackson and took part in the battles of Hanover Court House, Seven Days, Cedar Run, Second Manassas, Fairfax Court House, Ox Hill, Harper's Ferry and Antietam, his final battle where he took a bullet in the head and died. Had he not died early in the war he would likely have been an important guiding figure in the later days of the Confederate army.
