MORGAN, JUNIUS SPENCER
Already a wealthy man from his interests in various dry-goods ventures, Morgan became a partner in the London-based international banking firm of George Peabody and Company in 1854. In 1864, Morgan became head of the Peabody firm which, soon changed its name to J.S. Morgan & Co.
