ROTHSCHILD, NATHAN MAYER
NATHAN MAYER ROTHSCHILD (1777-1836). Rothschild, a banker, was the head of the London branch of the Rothschild banking family. He worked constantly for the defeat of the French emperor in the interests of England as well as his own financial gain. Working inconspicuously, Rothschild engineered the financial machinery needed to supply the Allies with the much needed funding to defeat the French.

Scarce Indenture Assigning Shares Signed by Nathan Rothschild

NATHAN MAYER ROTHSCHILD (1777-1836). Nathan was head of the London branch of the Rothschild banking family. He worked constantly for the defeat of the French emperor in the interests of England as well as his own financial gain. DS. 1 pp. 14" x 10 1/4". London. March 15, 1826. A partly printed financial document signed N. ROTHSCHILD and co-signed ROB SMITH. The document states in part: “This Indenture between Nathan Mayer Rothschild [and] Robert Smith That in Consideration of the Sum of One Hundred & ten pounds paid by the said Robert Smith to the said Nathan Mayer Rothschild hath bargained, sold and assigned the said Nathan Mayer Rothschild in the Capital of the ALLIANCE BRITISH AND FOREIGN LIFE And FIRE ASSURANCE COMPANY.” The document is printed in red and black and has an elaborate border down the left side.
