WAGNER, WEBSTER
Following his early start as a wagon maker, Webster began the design of sleeping cars. By 1858, with the help of "Commodore" Vanderbilt, Wagner had completed four cars which were in use by the New York Central Railroad, a relationship which led to his cars being used exclusively on the system for many years.
